Safety at the Alabama National Fair is taken seriously, with strong
security measures in place to protect all of our visitors and guests.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
Accompanied Minor
Everyone 17 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parent or guardian must be at least 21 years of age. Photo ID is required. Violation of policy may result in charges or arrest.
Dress Code
Anyone wearing clothing or jewelry or other personal items that fair management and/or law enforcement deems offensive or gang-related will not be allowed on the fairgrounds. Exceptions and challenges will be answered at the discretion of Fair management and law enforcement.
Shirts and shoes are required at all times.
Metal Detection
For the safety of everyone at the Alabama National Fair, all persons entering the fairgrounds will have their bag searched and walk through a metal detector and/or be screened with a hand-held metal detector to search for prohibited items.
Clear Bag Policy
Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC
and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
OR
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag
(Ziploc bag or similar)
All clear bags will be screened prior to entry into the fairgrounds. All clear bags not meeting the above requirements will not be permitted. Although permitted, childcare items, including diapers, must also be carried in an approved clear bag.
Fair patrons carrying required medical supplies or devices into the fairgrounds are not subject to the clear bag policy, but will be asked to have their bag checked at their entry gate for a thorough screening of the bag and the medical items. The person requiring these supplies or devices must always accompany the bag.
Filming & Photography
When you enter the Alabama National Fair event or programs, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by the Alabama National Fair and its affiliates and representatives. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote events in the future, highlight the event. You release the Alabama National Fair, its officers, and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings.
See Something, Say Something
The “If You See Something, Say Something Campaign” is a simple and effective program to engage the public and key frontline team members in identifying and reporting indictors of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper law enforcement authorities. If you SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING! Contact any police officer or medical staff on the fairgrounds or Fair Office at (334) 272-6831.
Prohibited Items
The Alabama National Fair’s security program will include the aid of metal detectors.
Prohibited items include:
– Weapons (Including but not limited to pocket knives, firearms, etc.)
– Fireworks
– Outside Food or Beverages
– Drones
– Bike/skateboards/skates/hover boards
These items will be taken and will NOT be returned. Other items may be refused at the discretion of the Alabama National Fair management or police. The Fair has also adjusted safety procedures in several other areas including security staffing levels, vehicle access, traffic management and video.
Use or possession of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on fairgrounds. Intoxicated persons may be refused entrance or excluded by police.
Health Protocols
We monitor and follow all federal, state, county, and city protocols regarding health concerns. Those protocols change and as they do, we will also change our policies and procedures.

Is there a pass out of the entrance gate?
If you leave the fairgrounds, you will have to purchase an entrance ticket to return to the fairgrounds. NO EXEMPTIONS.
What items are prohibited?

Can I bring outside food in?
Outside food and beverages are not permitted on the Fairgrounds.
Are pets allowed on the Fairgrounds?
While we love animals, we ask that you please leave your pets at home as they will not be allowed on the Fairgrounds. This includes Emotional Support Animals. Service animals, as defined by the American with Disability Act, will be permitted on the Fairgrounds.
